Porcelain stoneware is a compact, hard-wearing material with next to no porosity (i.e. it absorbs practically no water). The distinctive feature of Porcelain stoneware slabs is their composition, because only the purest materials – minerals, kaolin, feldspars and clay – are used to make up 99% of each individual tile, and colours of natural origin complete the attractive appearance.

The compacting process is carried out without the use of adhesives and resins, and the material is given an even appearance by means of mechanical pressing, using a pressure of 500 Kg per cm². It is then fired for a variable length of time in kilns of over 90 metres long, at temperatures of over 1250°.

1.Wide range of colours, sizes, thicknesses and finishes

Thanks to the technical-aesthetic features of the material there is such a wide variety as to make this product extremely versatile and easy to coordinate.

2.Acid-resistant

Resistant to the most common acids, such as vinegar, lemon juice, cola (orthophosphoric acid) and hydrochloric acid. These acids corrode the calcium in marble but leave no trace on ceramic surfaces. Non-resistant to hydrofluoric acid damage.

3.Resistant

It is more resistant to abrasion and wear than any natural material.

4.Non-combustible

The material does not burn nor does it produce gas or harmful-toxic fumes in case of fire or when exposed to a flame.

5.Easy to keep perfectly clean

Organic substances and bacteria, which cause allergies and illnesses, cannot build up on ceramic granite and strong detergent and disinfectants can be used on it.

6.Easy to work with

This product lends itself to being worked (cut, drilled, etc.) like natural stone, allowing you to customize it however you choose.

7.Heat resistant

There are no problems with hot saucepans or lit cigarettes, unlike with wood laminated plastics or agglomerates containing resin, which are all damaged by heat.

8.Stain Resistant

In the kitchen, oil, wine, coffee do not leave irremovable marks. In the bathroom, perfumes, creams and nail varnish do not stick to the surface, nor stain them. Strong detergents and solvents can even be used without damaging the material.

9.Frost Resistant

The material is frost proof.

10.Stable chromatically

Colours are absolutely fast and do not change when exposed to sun, weathering or smog.

11.Environmentally friendly

It contains no waterproofing chemicals, vernishes or resins and does not give off any gases even when exposed to flames. Unlike some types of natural stone, it does not release Radon or other radioactive gases and it is not polished using lead. It is completely environmentally friendly.

From the control of emissions to the recycling of waste from the manufacturing process, our approach has always been to improve our own quality of life and in particular that of generations to come.

Proof of this is provided by the numerous certifications obtained by us, including Ecolabel. All the collections in the catalogue are LEED compliant and in line with the IPPC directive, attesting to compliance with a series of stringent requisites and the use of the finest techniques available for industrial processes.

Of course. Given its technical characteristics, such as frost resistance or the ability of the colours to remain unaltered over time, our Porcelain stoneware is perfect for outdoor applications.

However, the material used must be chosen based on the coefficient of friction required, which for outdoor surfaces must be higher than R10.
